Major Inspection And Third Party Inspection
Major inspections must be carried out at the end of the crane’s design life, as determined by the manufacturer’s instructions, or if these are not available, as determined by a competent person to meet the same minimum requirements established by relevant technical standards.
If it is not reasonably practicable to inspect a crane according to either of these, you should inspect the crane at least every 7-10 years from the date the crane was first commissioned or registered, whichever was first. This must include inspection of the structure as well as mechanical components, NDT testing and inspection of all critical components.
Third party crane inspection is an independent assessment of the cranes condition, conforming with today’s standards and an audit of you current crane service provider, a Third party is required to be carried out every year, We provide a comprehensive report detailing the current state of the crane and if the crane is being serviced to local legislation and Australian Standards, ECM Industrial can also carry out a Design Work Period (DWP) calculation and but is not required as per Australian Standards.
